1テモテ I Timothy 2:1-7

１テモテ2:1 そこで、まず初めに、このことを勧めます。すべての人のために、また王とすべての高い地位にある人たちのために願い、祈り、とりなし、感謝がささげられるようにしなさい。

1TIM 2: I 　Urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone–

 

2 それは、私たちが敬虔に、また、威厳をもって、平安で静かな一生を過ごすためです。

2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

 

3 そうすることは、私たちの救い主である神の御前において良いことであり、喜ばれることなのです。

3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,

 

4 神は、すべての人が救われて、真理を知るようになるのを望んでおられます。

4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

 

5 神は唯一です。また、神と人との間の仲介者も唯一であって、それは人としてのキリスト・イエスです。

5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

 

6 キリストは、すべての人の贖いの代価として、ご自身をお与えになりました。これが時至ってなされたあかしなのです。

6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men–the testimony given in its proper time.

 

7 そのあかしのために、私は宣伝者また使徒に任じられ‐‐私は真実を言っており、うそは言いません‐‐信仰と真理を異邦人に教える教師とされました。

7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle–I am telling the truth, I am not lying–and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.
