2ペテロ 2Peter 3:8-14

２ペテロ3:8 しかし、愛する人たち。あなたがたは、この一事を見落としてはいけません。すなわち、主の御前では、一日は千年のようであり、千年は一日のようです。

2PET 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

 

２ペテロ3:9 主は、ある人たちがおそいと思っているように、その約束のことを遅らせておられるのではありません。かえって、あなたがたに対して忍耐深くあられるのであって、ひとりでも滅びることを望まず、すべての人が悔い改めに進むことを望んでおられるのです。

2PET 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

２ペテロ3:10 しかし、主の日は、盗人のようにやって来ます。その日には、天は大きな響きをたてて消えうせ、天の万象は焼けてくずれ去り、地と地のいろいろなわざは焼き尽くされます。

2PET 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

２ペテロ3:11 このように、これらのものはみな、くずれ落ちるものだとすれば、あなたがたは、どれほど聖い生き方をする敬虔な人でなければならないことでしょう。

2PET 3:11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives

２ペテロ3:12 そのようにして、神の日の来るのを待ち望み、その日の来るのを早めなければなりません。その日が来れば、そのために、天は燃えてくずれ、天の万象は焼け溶けてしまいます。

2PET 3:12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

 

２ペテロ3:13 しかし、私たちは、神の約束に従って、正義の住む新しい天と新しい地を待ち望んでいます。

2PET 3:13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
