エゼキエル書 Ezekiel 18:21-32

 

21  しかし、悪者でも、自分の犯したすべての罪から立ち返り、わたしのすべてのおきてを守り、公義と正義を行うなら、彼は必ず生きて、死ぬことはない。

21  “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does hwhatis just and right, iheshall surely live; he shall not die.

 

22彼が犯したすべてのそむきの罪は覚えられることはなく、彼が行った正しいことのために、彼は生きる。

22None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live.

 

23わたしは悪者の死を喜ぶだろうか。−−神である主の御告げ−−彼がその態度を悔い改めて、生きることを喜ばないだろうか。

23Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?

 

24しかし、正しい人が、正しい行いから遠ざかり、不正をし、悪者がするようなあらゆる忌みきらうべきことを彼は生きられるだろうか。彼が行ったどの正しいことも覚えられず、彼の不信の逆らいと、犯した罪のために、死ななければならない。

24But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live?  None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for nthetreachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.

 

25  あなたがたは、『主の態度は公正でない』と言っている。さあ、聞け。イスラエルの家よ。わたしの態度は公正でないのか。公正でないのはあなたがたの態度ではないのか。

25  “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

 

26正しい人が自分の正しい行いから遠ざかり、不正をし、そのために死ぬなら、彼は自分の行った不正によって死ぬ。

26When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die.

 

27しかし、悪者でも、自分がしている悪事をやめ、公義と正義とを行うなら、彼は自分のいのちを生かす。

27Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life.

 

28彼は反省して、自分のすべてのそむきの罪を悔い改めたのだから、彼は必ず生き、死ぬことはない。

28Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

 

29それでも、イスラエルの家は、『主の態度は公正でない』と言う。イスラエルの家よ。わたしの態度は公正でないのか。公正でないのはあなたがたの態度ではないのか。

29Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

 

30  それゆえ、イスラエルの家よ、わたしはあなたがたをそれぞれその態度にしたがってさばく。−−神である主の御告げ−−悔い改めて、あなたがたのすべてのそむきの罪を振り捨てよ。不義に引き込まれることがないようにせよ。

30  “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.

 

31あなたがたの犯したすべてのそむきの罪をあなたがたの中から放り出せ。こうして、新しい心と新しい霊を得よ。イスラエルの家よ。なぜ、あなたがたは死のうとするのか。

31Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel?

 

32わたしは、だれが死ぬのも喜ばないからだ。−−神である主の御告げ−−だから、悔い改めて、生きよ。

32For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; rsoturn, and live.”
